PRODUCT REVIEW: Updated Dr Bronner's Liquid Soap Review

It resides in my kitchen, bathroom and hair cupboard. Yup, Dr Bronners Liquid Soap is truly all-purpose but not all good. This concentrated soap, however, lasts a very long time and I don't plan on letting go of it anytime soon. Keep reading to find out how it measures up as I continue  with an updated review of the Dr. Bronner's Liquid Soap.

Dr. Bronner's Liquid Castile Soap

In The Kitchen
I use diluted Dr. Bronners to wash my dishes. The scent is pleasant and coupled with some warm water, it totally eradicated oil and buildup. I specifically use the Peppermint scent to clean my countertops and this keeps the ants away... for a while anyway. I sometimes add it to my Lysol too because of the ants issue. Oh the joys of living in the tropics.

In the Bathroom
I actually use this soap or add it to my general liquid soap for a little aromatherapy heaven. The Peppermint gives a nice tingle and the scent feels very cleansing and works wonders on my sinuses. I wouldn't add this to my soaking bath-time routine, however, as it can be very drying if used over a long period of time.

In my Hair Cupboard
Well, especially since having locks, I really love the diluted Dr Bronner's soap as a shampoo. The down side? It can be extremely drying and totally strips your hair of all your natural oils. This can be great, but you really need to have an excellent moisturizing routine   in order to restore the moisture balance to your hair. I don't recommend using this product alone as a shampoo. It can be added to a moisturizing shampoo to create an excellent clarifying shampoo.

  1. I love this stuff. I dilute it with water and sometimes add oil if I want to make it more moisturizing. The almond scent is my favorite.

  7. There isn't anything about Dr. B's that I don't like. The peppermint soap is so refreshing during the summer months. I dilute it with a bit of water as well when washing my hair. Good stuff!

  8. @Moni
    Adding oil is a very good idea but I'm not sure if it willl add moisture or just slip. I may still try it though.

    @Dasia
    Yes, just dilute it and shampoo. I put 6 parts water to 4 parts Dr Bronners.

    @Kinky Lady
    Whatever works for you. I find it way too harsh and drying on it's own.

    @Ayoko
    Yes lady. The peppermint puts me in heaven. It's soooo calming.

    Anonymous has the best suggestion I've seeen so far for adding moisture. Adding glycerience for shampooing is an excellent idea.

    @Just ME!
    Thanks for your comment. As you can tell from the post, I love the peppermint too. I use it year 'round.
