We say it every year after being alerted by the Christmas decorations going up everywhere and it's always true - The year went by so quickly! Then often comes the excitement or dread of the celebratory season. Embrace this holiday season and enhance your natural beauty with these holiday makeup ideas.
Don't be afraid to get sultry and sexy this season. It's all about the smokey seductive eyes, warm cheeks and bold lips... though not necessarily all together. Colours that really compliment and stand out for the fall and winter seasons are smokey greys, plums, deep browns, emerald green, navy blue, golds, bronze, copper and reds.
Pick your most flattering feature and play it up with a little color, go bold with the lips by wearing your favorite red/wine lipstick, play up those cheek bones with your favorite blush. Yes, black girls can wear blush too.
A Few Color & Product Suggestions
You don't have to break the bank on expensive products to look good, you will be amazed at what you can find at the drug store! As a woman of color, I know it can be hard to choose colors that will compliment our skin tone instead of making us look like a clown. Well, as a professional Makeup Artist I have solved those issues.
When choosing a blush, go for the peach, orange, coral tones, although some pink blushes are great. Coral/orange tone blushes will best compliment our skin tone and warm up the complexion, giving a more natural look instead of looking like we just slapped on some color on our cheeks, you can even substitute blush with bronzer. Bronzers can be used all year round and are an excellent way to add color and definition to the face. Some of my favorite blushes and bronzers are:
Nars Taj Mahal blush $26
Annabelle duo Golden Glow bronzer $10
Black Opal Nude Glow stick $9.
