Raw Aspirations #4 - Break the Breakfast Fast

My body is starting to respond. My clothes are starting to fit better. It's only been a short time since undertaking my new healthy lifestyle but the change I speak about in today's post was by far the hardest and most rewarding change so far. I have successfully been able to eat breakfast every morning for the past two weeks. Big deal? Yes, it's a big deal. Breakfast was one of those meals that I often skipped. I didn't recognize all the benefits of breakfast that I am currently gaining.

Benefits of eating breakfast include:
  • Improved concentration in the morning.
  • A more nutritionally balanced daily diet. I often fit in a serving of fruits.
  • A more hydrated body and better rhythm. I always have two glasses of water with my supplements in the morning. My body gets the nutritional boost and hydration it needs from the very start.
  • The National Weight Control Registry found that almost 8 in 10 adults who maintain a 30-plus pound weight loss for at least a year eat breakfast every day.

I start my morning off with one glass of water. After that, it's eating time. Here are three easy breakfast ideas for busy people on the go.
  1. A hot oats cereal with an apple. Try to keep the sugar to a minimum. That will only spike your sugar levels, give you a short high, and send you plunging into a mean low soon after.
  2. A protein shake with strawberries or blueberries blended in. You can add chuncks of fruit (like pineapple) too. Check online for good protein shakes (for vegan shakes click here to order from Janelle's personal Arbonne site) or ask a nutritionist for a good suggestion.
  3. A fruit salad. You can prepare this the night before. Place it in a secure container and grab it on your way out the door.
I hope you don't still have an excuse for not eating breakfast. If you want to be healthier, you have to do more. Dedicate yourself to healthier eating habits to realize a healthier you.

  3. Hey Knotty Truth. That sounds very tempting - maintaining a size 6 eh? Don't you get bored though? I dunno. I guess it's all about results right? How do you do it though? I want to know.
