CROWNED: a portrait series

AndrĂ© D. Wagner is of abstractElements is a New York based photographer from Omaha, Nebraska. According to him, "Being creative... is also about letting your passion fulfilled life reflect throughout your work." He does exactly that with his personal project, CROWNED: a portrait series.

See the series here.

Sadly, it is the first work of this kind that I am seeing online. CROWNED depicts the styles of 12 men through the lens of their personal hair style - their "crowns." The work transports you to a quiet gallery of vivid, black and white images that capture individuality, uniqueness and yes, textures of each man's hair. The musical element is special. It helps in the transport to another place and should not be separated from the viewing of the work.

See Wagner's full portfolio here.

The concept for CROWNED was inspired by artist, Joanne Pief'.  Pief's online gallery showcases her skill of capturing the artistic quality and demonstration of hair. Prepare to be intrigued by her

  1. Now that is what I call a serious hairdo. I can't help but wonder how long it took to set that up.

  2. Hey Qutix.

One has to wonder indeed. An artisthas to be really dedicated to their craft to create this and the photography equally so to capture it.
