KiK:  Why did you decide to go natural?

Lisa:  Combination of being tired of my relaxing my hair and in support of a very dear friend of mine who was diagnosed with cancer.

KiK:  Why did you choose to big chop?

Lisa:  My hair was already short so it was an easy decision to cut off the relaxer.  I wore a Halle Berry cut for a long time so I was used to having short hair.

KiK:  What is your regimen now?

Lisa:  My preference right now is wash n goes since I have found the perfect product for that, which is Xtreme Gel.  However from time to time I will do twist-outs.  I do not use direct heat as I suffered heat damage in 2010 and had to start all over.  I shampoo at least twice a month; I wash my hair every week - co-wash when not using shampoo; I DC (deep condition) twice a month. From time to time I do protein treatments depending on how my hair feels. I do not do protective styles as my hair is on the thin side so I try as much as possible not to put too much tension on my scalp.

Lisa's hair is considered thin natural hair

KiK:  Have there been any specific challenges with your natural hair?

Lisa:  My ends have been the most challenging part of my hair.  They tend to get bushy and appear to be bad ends.  I was recently told that they're not and I should stop cutting.  I just hate the way they look at times.  I am trying to get better at sealing those ends so that they don't look so raggedy to me LOL.

KiK:  I agree. I don't really notice any bushy ends. Now I'm subbed to you on YouTube so I know you are  a product junkie. LOL. Nevertheless, can you name your three favourite products?

Lisa:  Wow, 3 favs?  That's gonna be tough....
  1.  Xtreme Gel
  2. Darcy's Pumpkin Seed Conditioner
  3. Deva Curl Heaven In Hair

KiK:  Cool. So what is the one thing you wish you knew when you just started your natural hair journey?

Lisa:  I wish I knew that natural hair will naturally be dry.  I was on the search for that perfect product which initiated the whole product junky-jism.  Now I understand is not about the product as much as it's your hair regimen.

KiK:  So true! Thanks for doing this interview. Where online can we keep up with your hair journey?

Lisa:  I can be found on Youtube, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter all under the same name: blueottlisa
