Marley/Kinky Twist Extensions on Natural Hair with Locks – Source |
Got short locks? Guess what, you can do kinky twist extensions on them too just as pictured above. The texture of the kinky hair disguises the locs and gives you a new and different look. There are however some pros and cons. Keep reading to find out what they are.
Marley/Kinky Twist Extensions on Locked Hair – Source |
PROS
- You don't have to think about doing your hair for a while.
- Adds versatility
- Gives a totally different look for when you're bored with your locks
- Allows you to play with colour without dying your hair. (This can also be achieved by wrapping locks with dyed kinky hair).
- You will probably need to use a whole lot of hair if you already have thick locks.
- Even if you have thinner locks, your extensions will be thicker than the usual kinky twists but if you can dig the thick chunky look, you can rock it.
CONS FOR NEW LOCKERS
- If your locks are not fully formed, you can't keep them in for very long because they can begin to matte/mesh with your locks.
- They are high manipulation during the instalment and take-down process. If your locks are not mature, the manipulation will probably slow down the locking process.
So, are you ready to create your own kinky twist extensions. Check out the video below to learn how to do twist extensions on locs.
You can also do chunkier Havana Twists.
