QUESTION
What can I do about fairy (single strand) knots?

FELICIA SAYS
Mostly, it's from not detangling enough, not deep conditioning and the hair is dry and when the hair is dry it coils really tightly so it catches and it will twist inside it's own strand (knotting onto itself). So, just try to detangle and make sure that you are deep conditioning twice a month and do your trims.

Trimming should be done every 8-10 weeks.

QUESTION
My hair gets tangled a lot when I wash. What should I do?

FELICIA SAYS
You might need a trim. For women with super-thick hair, when you shampoo your hair and then put your conditioner on, what you want to do is to twist your hair with the conditioner in it (in sections). When you go to rinse the conditioner out, leave the twists in. Rinse your hair and squeeze the excess water out. That way, when you go to style your hair so (you avoid tangles and can work with it in sections without your hair getting too dry while you work section by section).
