- Cantu Shea Butter: leave-in conditioning repair cream
- Lottabody setting lotion
My Process:
- Wash hair.
- Towel Dry
- Add Cantu Shea Butter and Lottabody Setting Lotion while detangling with my Demen brush.
- Plait in 16-20 parts.
- Set plaits on purple perm rods.
- Dry (I air-dried after blowing over with my blow-dryer for about 5 minutes.
- Release and style.
- It took wayyy too long. I didn't untangle under the shower and that my be 1/2 my problem but everything took almost 2 hrs. I'm hoping to keep the braid-out or just not wash for another 5 days at least. I won't have the time to even if I wanted to either.
- It takes a bit too long to dry when I roller-set the plaits. Maybe I'll try again without the rollerset but I think i'll try twists next time around.
oh gosh, this is gorgeous! i love the shape girl!
ReplyDeleteThanks girl. I love the shape too even though I wish the length would've shown more.I can't wait to see where it is in another year or two. This is 2 years of growth since my last relaxer!
ReplyDeleteJust a tip: I do it on dampened dry and stretched hair. The results are really different to doing it on dry hair, and its a lot easier. Love it on you x
ReplyDeleteI was quite happy with the result actually and it was done on damp hair. I did a braid out on dry hair about a year ago. This one I did my on damp, towel-dried hair. Perhaps I'll try it on dry hair for more length however. Can't hurt to have styling options and do things in different ways. I find my wet hair very difficult to manage though.
ReplyDeleteI used to rock a braid out for a really long time and I found that I got the best results when I braided it in cornrows with a little spray conditioner and curl gel and slept on it -- no heat. You can go a couple of days without rebraiding if you put a scarf on it at night. And it doesn't get frizzy, it's just defined waves.
ReplyDeleteI can't cornrow so that won't be happening but thanks for the suggestion. In the cold climate, my hair typically takes about 2/3 days to dry in plaits. My hair is all locked up now though so my braid-outs are all on loose locked hair.
