MONDAY MUSIC | Wear Yu Size by Lt. Stitchie

This song is a serious throwback that gets me and thousands of other Jamaicans throwing one hand (or yes, two gun finga) in the air while belting out this tune at the top of our lungs! Let me take you back to the 80s for some fun old school music this month. Today we're starting with Wear Yu Size by Lt. Stitchie.

Disclaimer – My feet aren't that small and most of my family have big foot syndrome (kidding-ish) so this is in no way meant to demean women with larger feet. It's just talking about the women who squeeze into smaller sizes for cute shoes. C'mon. Even if you're a size 8, you've been there when that size 7 shoe is on sale. LOL.

Cleveland Laing (born c.1965), better known as Lieutenant Stitchie, is a Jamaican deejay who originally worked in the dancehall style but switched to gospel reggae in 1997 after surviving a car crash, thereafter working under the shorter name Stitchie.

In 1986 he began working with Prince Jammy, recording the single "Wear Yuh Size", followed in 1987 with his debut album Great Ambition.[2] His style was humorous, often adopting the voices of several different characters during a song.[4] His single "Natty Dread" topped the Jamaican charts for fourteen weeks.[4] Commercial success led to a record deal with Atlantic Recordsin 1988, Stitchie becoming one of the first dancehall artists, 4 years after Yellowman, to sign a deal with a major record label, releasing the albums The GovernorWild Jamaican Romances, and Rude Boy.
