Using and Storing Extra Virigin Coconut Oil in the Winter

Just about every hair board, blog or natural haired Youtube channel guru praises coconut oil for its benefits.

A Few Benefits of Using Extra Virgin Coconut Oil on your Hair
  1. It is one of the few oils that penetrates the strand and remarkably reduced protein loss.
  2. Coconut oil can be very moisturizing and gives hair great sheen.
  3. The oil is light and doesn't not create build-up, allowing you to use it regularly without requiring frequent washing with harsh shampoos to cleanse the hair.
  4. It acts as a great sealant after moisturizing hair with a moisturizer to seal in moisture.
  5. It's great for those with dry scalp. It can be used frequently.
  6. It can be used for both cooking/baking and haircare. Some people even use it on their skin. Who doesn't love a multipurpose product. You end up with less clutter in your home and spend less too.

In the winter however, this oil can get a bit tricky, and hey, the tubs I usually find are pretty big and last a long time. I try to use one tub for both my cooking and beauty needs. Check out how to do this and ensure that your oil doesn't spoil from constantly dipping your fingers into the oil while styling your hair. by watching the video below.
