Black Crackle on Two-Toned Nails - Blue, Yellow and Black Tutorial

My nail look above was inspired by a pic I saw during a google search some time ago. View the pics below to see how I achieved the look.

Tip!
Crackle nail polish enhances the strength of your nail. It is a great way to grow longer nails as it provides reinforcement

Step 1: Start with your base coat. Always use a base coat and allow it fully dry before applying coloured polish. This will significantly reduce yellowing or staining of the nails. Get your desired colours together.

Step 2: Apply the first colour from the base of your nail to the middle. Use two coats if necessary as you want to ensure that the bottom colour is bold enough to stand below the crackle and be seen. Allow to dry.

Step 3: Apply the second colour from the middle to the tip. Again, use two coats if necessary. You can be fairly messy. It doesn't matter if the colours overlap a bit. Allow to dry.

Step 4: Apply a fairly thick coat of your chosen crackle nail polish. Never apply two coats. I've found that blowing on your nail will speed up the crackle process and make the crackle a bit more defined. Allow it to dry.

Step 5: Add your desired topcoat. This look took me about 15 minutes to create.

  1. This is cool, I have the purple crackle polish. I'd be sure to add a thick coat this time around. I really want to try the magnetic nail polish.
