| My favourite pair of prescription sunglasses from zennioptical.com |
When choosing glasses, I want something that doesn't look like what I've worn before and suits my face. If I'm gonna have to wear glasses, I'm gonna have some fun with it. The interactive Zenni Frame Fit function on the site (as shown in the image below) allows you to see how the frames could look on your face. This is extremely helpful though the colours are not always accurate. By the way, I didn't get the anti-reflective coating because I leave my glasses in the hot car a lot and the coating is heat-sensitive. I digress. Now back to choosing a style - the Zenni Frame Fit feature works for me just fine.

How to Get the Right Fit
The How to Order page gives a detailed description of what you need to do. There is excellent information also on Finding the Right Size and Fit as well as how to Understand Your Prescription and Measuring your Pupillary Distance (PD).

Prices & Recommendations
I don't recommend this site for people who haven't been wearing glasses for a while or for first time glasses wearers. It takes a little time to know exactly what will work for you. Nevertheless, at prices as low as $7, Zennioptical.com is worth a try.

I get my glasses adjusted at nearby opticians when needed. Opticians have considered my glasses to be of average quality and are often surprised when I mention that they were purchased online. Actually, one mentioned that a particular rimless pair I had was of superior quality. One pair, however, didn't hold up very well and the lens started falling out of the frame. lol. If you take good care of your glasses though, which I don't, you'll be just fine.
I love this site. I've ordered 6 pairs of glasses from them in the last few years and only one wasn't a great fit. Hmmm. Maybe I should donate it somewhere (I digress). In any case, . Be sure to read up on exactly how to get the best fit. It's worth a try... especially if you like to switch things up on the regular.

oh wow! love them D! my favourite one definitely are the red frames. Looking chic girl :D
ReplyDeleteThanks Nicole!
ReplyDeleteThis is why I love your website. You always have some good money saving tips. I just got some glasses offline and the customer service is really bad. They made a mistake with the glasses and had to send them back. It's been over two weeks. Next time I'm going to Zennioptical. Did you have someone else do your measurements for the glasses? was it easy to do your own. My glasses are progressives and I'm afraid of messing things up.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much
Thanks Sandy! I'm glad you like the blog.
ReplyDeleteI got my measurements taken at the optometrist. I used their measurements and selected a frame based on the numbers in an old frame. I hope you have a better experience with zennioptical.
I get my glasses from Zenni too - it's so great to actually use my glasses as an accessory! I've been too lazy to use the frame fit feature with my own photo, so last time I got a prescription at the optometrist, I tried on a few glasses there. Then I wrote down the measurements for the ones that fit and used those to find frames with similar measurements. I love all my glasses now!
ReplyDeleteHey ABOP. I totally understand how you feel. After over 25 years of wearing glasses, I'm finally really having fun with it. I hated glasses before.
