I'm Jamaican and so wasn't going to address this topic but some very ignorant comments on a site led me to do this post. In this post you'll find the summary of the situation followed by my thoughts.
It's a hot day in SoHo and President Obama's daughter's shorts are really short. Her tights aren't much longer. The photographer took pictures of her from the front and the back and people are outraged. Some hate the fact that she is inappropriately dressed. Some say that the photographer is wrong for sexualising a young girl.

Would we let out young daughters out in that outfit? – Maybe not
Would we pick out this outfit for our grown daughter? – Probably not.
Should we be shocked that the photographer took the pictures? -– Definitely not.
Let's face the truth. It is hard to sexualise people who aren't sexualising themselves. We sexualise ourselves every day when selecting a bikini instead or a full suit or a mini skirt instead of a thick maxi skirt. I'm sure Sasha thought that her outfit was cute and trendy but, it was a poor choice for the President's daughter. Young Sasha is a public figure. She and her immediate family members are expected to be the ultimate role models for their nation and the world. Photographers are following their every turn with hopes of making a million dollars (or more) from their most minor mishaps.
I thank God that I don't face the scrutiny that Sasha has to endure daily. My hope is that this small mishap teaches the young girl and her family to be careful at all times while learning how to not let these things knock them down for long. After all, the bikini/swimsuit pictures from their next vacation in Hawaii are probably next and there may be very little that they can do about them. #I'mJustSaying
