We know our hair tends to frizz. Many of us however don't know how to tame the frizz.
Comb your hair at night before going to bed. Don't comb it in the morning.
Yes, you read right. This comes in very useful if you are doing a style that requires a smooth top (like a smooth bun).
Create your style. Add some natural oils and Aloe Vera Gel ( a great natural gel) then tie your hair with a satin scarf to keep it flat. This works for other styles you want to reduce frizz with too. It's just like setting your hair with rollers. You're just using a scarf to encourage it to stay in place.
Do this with your hair our your child's too and you'll have less work in the morning. Just take off the scarf and run out the door.
You can also tie your hair with a scarf while driving to your destination to encourage as little frizz as possible. I use an (aphogee) oil spray then tie my hair with a scarf to have as little frizz as possible for the day.
I hope this helps you to...

ReplyDeleteThat's unfortunate. I've had many frizz-free days. Not all my styles are always frizz free but I've definitely not always had frizz and using a scarf has definitely helped.
ReplyDeleteMy homemade flax seed gel takes down frizz for me. But as soon as I stick oil in there, Puff! It's like a dandelion. I've learned to seriously limit using oils in my hair.
ReplyDeleteInteresting. I use oil and a scarf and I'm good. I've never used the flax seed gel. I have a friend who slicks hers down with just water. I guess each person has their own thing.
ReplyDeleteAloe vera gel seems like a greats solution, finding it is another problem. The only ones I see are the ones in Walgreens for burns. But what is flax seed gel and where can you get that.
ReplyDeleteI've never used flax seed gel. I've never seen flax seed gel. lol I've seen Aloe VEra gel at every whole foods of trader joes store. It's also at vitamin shoppe. It's also EXTREMELY easy to find online.
ReplyDeleteTo prevent unnecessary drying out, I keep my hair braided in large sections I can take out in the morning. Combing it out then putting it in a pony and tying with a scarf before showering has the same effect. Although, for very warm and humid days, it does not stay flat for long. Thanks for the tips. Nice blog!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tips! I recently blew a small fortune on some ghd straighteners and they work great in keeping my hair under control. I think I will certainly take your advice and see if I can reduce the frizz without having to practically melt my hair every morning.
