My eyebrows (lightly filled in) after being threaded in Jamaica |
I was more than excited about having my brows threaded for the first time after months of butchering them myself. Compared to tweezing, it didn't hurt at all. Eyebrow threading is an ancient tradition that uses thread to tweeze/epilate hair. Want information on threading? Click here or watch the video below.
Why choose threading over tweezing or waxing? Threading is:
- Fast and accurate.
- More gentle than tweezing or waxing on the skin surrounding the hair.
- good at removing a large amount of hair quickly.
- Great for sensitive skin.
- Good if you have diabetes or many other types of illnesses that require you to avoid broken skin.
- Can be done on skin that is being treated with dermatological products like accutane and Retin-A etc.
- Less painful in the brow region but can be a little painful in the moustache region. (It can be done on the entire face.
You can thread your brows on your own but it can be very tricky. I don't recommend doing below your brows. A couple years ago, I used to do the top of my brow as I can be very accurate but I tweezed below.
Although I prefer to have mine done my a professional threader who was trained in India who can properly shape my brows, check out one of the best self-threading tutorials on YouTube below.
Where did you get it done?
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get it done?
ReplyDeleteThe young lady works from home so I can't give out her address without permission. I will ask for it and update you.
ReplyDeletelooks great
ReplyDeleteMay be better to get a phone number so persons can contact her, rather than an address lol
ReplyDeleteYes. Either way, I will seek her permission for whatever method of contact she prefers.
ReplyDeleteLove the new brows! Did she or you use "brow powder" to give more definition and a professional finish?
ReplyDeleteI prefer the threading method as well, but I have had a threader who did not know how to shape, and it was a nightmare. Of course, threaders that know how to shape the brows are best and I always prefer to get a referral for all beauty services. Love it! You found a great lady to refer!
Hi pHenomenalhairstylist. I filled them in myself with a pensil and mascara wand (with no mascara on it). This one was well-trained in India. You're right. Referrals are always the best way to go.
